Every human being is born with a certain degree of “stupidity.” Yet as we grow older—gaining knowledge, social awareness, and life experience—we gradually become dominated by the fear of being judged. As a result, we try in every possible way to appear intelligent or more knowledgeable than others.
However, for “Kae” Satit Kalawantavanich, a 66-year-old legendary creative figure, co-founder of Phenomena—one of Thailand’s largest production houses—creator of the Propaganda brand, and the father of the globally recognized character “Mr. P,” he has chosen to return and embrace “stupidity” once again. Turning his back on accolades and achievements in design and advertising, he fully immerses himself in the world of pure art.
“The Wisdom of Stupidity” marks his first-ever solo exhibition—not focused on technical mastery or superficial beauty, but on revealing his true self and expressing sharp perspectives through art under the concept: “We can do it because we don’t yet know that it can’t be done.”
This idea acts as a solvent—allowing his “stupidity” to dissolve and blend vibrant colors drawn from decades of professional experience with his foundational roots in art.
The exhibition represents a fusion of over 40 years of accumulated experience, conveyed through charming characters that carry profound philosophies and Buddhist reflections.
Mr. P on Canvas
Satit revives the globally beloved character Mr. P, reintroducing it through colorful canvas paintings while maintaining its signature humor, playfulness, and multifaceted personality—an icon of Thai design in the millennium era.
Sculpture Series: “The Power of Doing”
A collection of sculptures depicting Mr. P in various postures, symbolizing five dimensions of action: Working, emotional acceptance, meditation, making merit and giving. These works emphasize that Dharma can be accessed anytime, anywhere, and that “doing” is at the heart of living.

Three New Characters
This exhibition also introduces three new characters inspired by contemporary life:
- B Betty
A girl representing stubbornness and sincerity. Equipped with tools like a kitchen knife, megaphone, and hammer, she boldly expresses truth amid a fragmented world (Global Fragmentation). Snail Kid
Born from Satit’s love of nature and keen observation, this character reflects a humorous yet satirical perspective—blurring the line between humans and nature while urging us to question who is truly destroying the planet.Space Dude
A companion striving to defy life’s gravity in search of freedom—symbolizing humanity’s desire to transcend limitations.
From decades in the creative and design industries, Satit concludes that the greatest obstacle to creativity is not ignorance—but the fear of being perceived as unintelligent.
He likens this fear to “a myna bird perched on our shoulder,” constantly whispering self-doubt—one that we tend to shoo away just to appear smart in the eyes of others.
In his view, stupidity is not foolishness, but a space of possibility—where accidents and mistakes can lead to new forms of creativity.
While intelligent people often hesitate to cross into the unknown, innovators and artists dare to experiment, dare to fail, and dare to embrace “stupidity.” Only then can unexpected innovations emerge.
This exhibition invites everyone to rediscover the magic within themselves—by allowing themselves to be “stupid” once in a while.
Try starting something you truly want to do without fearing judgment. Sometimes, not knowing is the strongest driving force—and may lead you to a place that intelligence alone could never reach.

(Mr. P on Canvas)
(The Power of Doing)

B Betty
Snail Kid
Space Dude
